Priorities

Attract New Business

As businesses desire to relocate to Brandon, we must continually review our codes, regulations, and planning commission expectations in order to become a more inviting host and partner for aspiring small business owners, national chain retailers, as well as large industry partners. We must continue to strive to be a helpful and compelling hometown for prospective new businesses! Our beautiful city is a leader in our area, one of the safest in our state, and should be showcased to potential businesses.

Safety and Support of Law Enforcement

Brandon is blessed to be a one of the safest communities in our state, that enjoys a low crime rate. We must continue to support and inspire our law enforcement professionals for the impeccable protection and safety that they provide our citizens. As a former Brandon Police Officer, S.W.A.T Captain, and current Criminal Investigator in the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, Bo understands what it takes to work with law enforcement and maintain a safe community.

Promote our quality of life

Brandon is one of the fastest growing cities in our state, and a wonderful place to call home Our residents enjoy the security and safety of our community, being centrally located to many amenities nearby, including the Reservoir, 2nd largest river in the state (Pearl River), landscaped parks and streetscapes, and safe and enjoyable family-centric businesses and activities. But we need to do more. Our community should focus on what we do best: being an ideal place to raise a family. By promoting our stellar quality of life, the low cost of living, and the fact that this is a wonderful town in which to grow up, we can attract families and businesses to choose to move here and call Brandon home.

Raise Awareness and Support of our Excellent Schools

With their office here in Brandon, Rankin County School District (RCSD) enrolls more than 19,500 students and is one of the largest employers in our area. The Brandon Zone of RCSD boasts 5 schools, with an enrollment of over 5,000 students. In addition to excellent academics, with schools regularly being recognized as highly rated by various services, our schools provide the best in athletics and other extracurricular activities. In addition, area private schools enroll many Brandon residents. We must continually broadcast the good news and increase awareness of our award-winning schools.
